TaxWriter exists for one moment: the one where you have a deadline, a notice, or a penalty in front of you and need to know what to do and what to send.
We write the explainer, then we write the document. Every deadline on this site carries its tax year. Every rule links to the IRS or state source it comes from. Every page carries the name of the person who wrote it and the date it was last checked. Where an outside reviewer has checked it, their name appears too.
What we do
- Keep the federal deadline calendar current, with the days remaining and what happens on the day after.
- Explain extensions, penalties, and IRS notices in plain English, and say when you should stop reading and hire someone.
- Provide letter and statement templates you can fill in, copy, and send. They run entirely in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to us.
What we do not do
We do not prepare or file returns, give advice about your specific situation, or sell your information. The content here is general information, not tax advice, and nothing on this site creates a client relationship.
Who publishes it
TaxWriter is published by InterSearch Tax Solutions, Inc., 975 E Riggs Road, Suite 12-402, Chandler, AZ 85249. The name was registered in 2000 and sat unused until 2026, when we decided the web still needed a place that just says the date, the rule, and the letter.
