Every deadline that matters, with days remaining
The federal filing and payment dates for the 2026 tax year, the estimated payment dates, and what to do the day after one passes.
Every date on this page belongs to the 2026 tax year unless it says otherwise. The count next to each one is live. When a date passes, the page for it flips to what you do next.
Two rules cover most of what goes wrong. First, an extension moves the date you file, not the date you pay. Second, when a due date falls on a weekend or a legal holiday, it moves to the next business day, and the IRS publishes the moved date in the form instructions, so we do too.
